Researchers are exploring the use of a new kinetic model of quantifying myocardial perfusion reserve with solid-state detector SPECT and technetium-99m sestamibi to identify multivessel arterial disease. Global MPR index was greater in cases of normal myocardial perfusion imaging and lower in those involving perfusion defects, according to a study published in The Journal of Nuclear Medicine. Researchers said there is a need for more data on the parameters of MPR index readings with Tc-99m sestamibi.
