Salesforce.com is rolling out Social.com, an initiative that combines the strengths of its recent acquisitions, Buddy Media and Radian6, and marks a pronounced shift toward marketing services for the company. Social.com will "automate the way a company's potential customers are found, analyzed and sent personalized ads over social media like Facebook and Twitter," Quentin Hardy writes. Salesforce chief Marc Benioff, in announcing the new product line, said that "everyone has to move to being a connected, customer-oriented company."
