School-based programs that counsel children about healthy lifestyles increased fitness and lowered leptin levels but did not improve other markers of future cardiovascular risk, German researchers reported at the European Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation's EuroPRevent meeting. Magnus Scheving, who created the television show "Lazy Town," said children are not motivated by future health benefits, so interventions should focus on having fun instead.
