Scientists in Uruguay implanted Aequorea victoria jellyfish genes into sheep embryos, creating sheep that glow under ultraviolet light. "Our focus is generating knowledge and making it public so the scientific community can be informed and help in the long-run march to generate tools so humans can live better," said lead researcher Alejo Menchaca. Monkeys and cats are among other species that have been successfully implanted with glow genes.
