The oil and natural gas industry is intensifying its push to dismantle the Renewable Fuel Standard, observers said. Bruce Babcock, an economics professor at Iowa State University, said any proposal to undo the RFS would have a difficult time clearing Congress, especially the Senate. "Once the facts are made abundantly clear, I'm hopeful that efforts to undermine the Renewable Fuel Standard will fail," said Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa.
