Technology by Euclid Analytics that tracks shoppers by their cellphones as they pass by or visit stores is raising concerns with Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., who says Euclid should require consumers to opt in for such monitoring. Currently, the company requires consumers to go to its site to opt out. "Euclid's use of opt-out location tracking -- regardless of whether a consumer actually enters a store equipped with this technology -- simply doesn't meet the standard of privacy Americans should be able to count on," Franken said.
