Slovakia continues to pursue nuclear energy in the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi incident in Japan, and Slovaks have offered little resistance to such plans, observers say. Two reactors are expected to start up in the country the next 12 months, and two more are in the initial planning stages. "Slovakia does not have so much potential to develop renewable energy that would cover all its needs in the future," according to state-run nuclear firm JESS.
