Unilever has filed a patent application for a process that produces tea juice by pressing the juice from heated tea leaves. The juice can then be sold in liquid or powder form and mixed with water to create a flavorful, richly colored tea, the company said.

Antioxidants called polyphenols, found in grapes, help organ function and may protect against developing metabolic syndrome, according to research from the University of Michigan. The animal study, reported at the Experimental Biology conference, found grape intake reduced inflammation and oxidative stress in tissues and helped the immune system regulate the heart, kidney and liver.
