An analysis of data from more than 30,000 breast cancer patients in Finland showed that statin use before and after diagnosis was linked to reduced mortality risk of up to 66%. "The association held for both localized and metastatic tumors. There really appears to be something going on here, and it's certainly a reason for further study," a researcher said. The findings were presented at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research.
