A study in European Urology showed type 2 diabetes patients with fasting plasma glucose rates higher than 126 mg/dL were 28% more likely to develop kidney stones than those who had FPG levels lower than 100 mg/dL. Researchers also found A1C values between 5.7% and 6.4% and greater than 6.5% were associated with a 34% and 92% increased risk of kidney stones, respectively.
