Declining health is the biggest worry for middle-class Americans ages 55 to 75, far outpacing other concerns, such as having too little money put aside for retirement or outliving retirement savings, according to a survey by Bankers Life and Casualty's Center for a Secure Retirement. The survey also found that retirement savings were below $100,000 for 55% of respondents, whose household incomes ranged from $25,000 to $75,000. Sixty-three percent of respondents said they expect to reduce their spending in retirement, and 41% plan to work part-time, according to the survey.
