CenturyLink, Windstream and Frontier Communications are offering to match any Phase 1 funding from the Connect America Fund of the Federal Communications Commission. "We make this commitment because we believe that access to high-speed broadband has become an indispensable platform for economic growth and job creation, and for addressing major national challenges like education, health care, energy and public safety," the companies wrote in a letter to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski.
