Educators in a Texas district reported on two areas where the current inclusion model may need some improvements. In one survey, educators reported needing more training for teaching in inclusive settings. In another, a majority of educators surveyed said they did not have the support of a special-education teacher or paraprofessional in the classroom. In response, the district hired a special-education coordinator to focus on differentiated instruction in the general-education classroom.
