Thailand's goal of increasing demand for alternative fuels to 10.6 million gallons a day by 2021, from 1.3 million gallons today, is "too challenging," said Phichai Tinsuntisuk, chairman of the alternative-energy industry club of the Federation of Thai Industries. The combined daily demand for ethanol and biodiesel will reach just 5.3 million gallons by 2021, Phichai said. Ethanol consumption is expected to rise to 2.6 million gallons per day due to the growing market for E85, Phichai said.
