While the pool of available candidates for openings in O&P companies is large, finding qualified people to fill administrative, fabrication and clinical jobs can be a challenge. Some O&P companies use graduate trainees in their residencies as a pool for practitioner candidates, and others look to industries with similar dexterity requirements when filling fabrication jobs. For administrative positions, O&P employers advise hiring for personality rather than experience.
