Zion National Park officials are warning people to steer clear of the park's bighorn sheep because they are suffering from contagious ecthyma, also known as sore mouth disease, which is transmissible to humans via direct contact. Although not deadly, the disease causes oral sores and teat inflammation in sheep and painful lesions in people, particularly those with poor immune systems.
