Video stores in the U.K. are facing gradual obsolescence as more consumers turn to online services for their entertainment needs, according to data from IHS that finds in-store DVD rentals will decline by more than half this year, the sharpest drop in more than a decade. "The massive downturn in the store-based video rental market represents a significant loss to the video market and will result in a major decline and radical transformation of the U.K. video market overall," IHS' Tony Gunnarsson says.
