A rise in the number and severity of cyberattacks on U.S. firms has promoted many companies to intensify their Capitol Hill lobbying efforts on the issue of cybersecurity, new data show. According to a tally by the Center for Responsive Politics, roughly 270 entities entered lobbying documents regarding the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, while the number of mentions the issue got in lobbying disclosure forms almost doubled between 2011 and 2012.
