Ameren Missouri and Westinghouse Electric will seek Department of Energy funding for a small modular reactor project in Missouri. The companies applied for a similar grant last year but lost to a Babcock & Wilcox-led consortium. "The Westinghouse SMR design, we think, is the most advanced and the most likely to be license-able in a short period of time," said Warren Wood, vice president of regulatory and legislative affairs at Ameren Missouri.
