When a current boss confronts a job seeker about why her or she wants to leave, it may be a good time to negotiate staying, writes career advice columnist Joyce Lain Kennedy. If pay or hours are the reason for the search, a current boss may be willing to improve conditions, Kennedy writes. If the job is unbearable, however, Kennedy suggests job seekers offer to sign a nondisclosure agreement or train a replacement. "In return, aim to stretch out your departure date until you find a good job. Everybody wins," Kennedy concludes.
