A well-written resignation letter can help an exiting employee remain on good terms with a former boss, recruiter Lindsay Olson writes in this blog post. Olson advises employees to keep the letter short, thank their boss for growth opportunities and avoid using the letter to vent grievances. "You never know when you might need a referral from your previous boss or co-worker, and if you're remembered as the employee who went ballistic in her resignation letter, they'll be less inclined to help you later," Olson writes.
