ASTA has submitted arguments against the International Air Transport Association's application for Resolution 787 through a filing with the Transportation Department. ASTA also has announced its inclusion in a parallel filing by the Open Allies Coalition, which has stated its position against the resolution. "Comparative shopping is one of the bedrocks of a free and open market, and movement to restrict or impair comparative shopping is harmful to consumers. As such, ASTA recommended that DOT reject [New Distribution Capability] as currently proposed," ASTA President and CEO Zane Kerby said.
