Brazilian medical-device importers are launching a court challenge to regulations that make them disclose sensitive commercial information, according to the industry association Abimed. The new regulations, which apply to finished products and components, call for the disclosure of production and purchasing costs as well as profit margins. Such requirements are unconstitutional, said Abimed's Carlos Alberto Pereira Goulart, who said disclosure of the information "would create a conflict of interest between buyers and suppliers."
