Chocolate sales at convenience stores were up 3.3% in the 52 weeks ending March 24, and NCA is predicting strong performance for the rest of the year. The category has done especially well at Colorado-based Acorn Food Stores, where two-for-one pricing specials and cross-merchandising helped drive a 6.5% increase in first-quarter chocolate sales, said General Manager Tom Mousaw.
