U.S. businesses are moving aggressively to adopt next-generation IT solutions, but recruiting leadership with knowledge of digital technologies is proving challenging in a world where many top executives cut their teeth when clouds were still just white fluffy things in the sky. By one analysis, more than one-third of the 100 largest companies in the U.S. don't have directors with digital experience, and finding digital directors can prove difficult. "The avalanche of digital activity is making directors conclude they are increasingly ill-equipped in the boardroom," said Tuck Rickards, managing director of recruiters Russell Reynolds Associates.
