The U.S. Court of Claims ruled in favor of Chevron in a California oil deposit contract dispute with the Department of Energy. Judge Susan Braden found the department violated two agreements on equity interest determination in the state's Elk Hills Reserve. Chevron "is entitled to be compensated for damages, in an amount to be determined, including sanctions for DOE and the government's 'bad faith' conduct and abusive discovery tactics," Braden ruled.
