Duke Energy and Florida Power & Light have requested the Florida Public Service Commission's clearance to procure a combined $200 million from their customers to help pay for ongoing reactor development projects in the state. Duke sought $174.6 million for work associated with the construction of the Levy County nuclear plant and for an unrecovered investment in the uprate of its Crystal River facility. FPL, meanwhile, requested $28.3 million for the cost of an uprate project at its St. Lucie and Turkey Point plants.
