Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, have identified three key phases of how bubbles form. By studying the bubbles' rearrangement, how liquid drains through them and when they burst, scientists developed a mathematical equation to predict their movement. Scientists say the research will be important in producing chemicals such as flame retardants that rely on foams and froths.
