The collapse of a factory in Bangladesh that killed more than 1,100 garment workers has placed supply-chain integrity on every consumer's radar, writes Gerald F. Davis. That won't have an immediate impact, but it could eventually move businesses to adopt more responsible procurement strategies. "A cultural shift is needed to make consumers cognizant of the impact of their choices," Davis writes. "Perhaps as our information environment becomes richer ... this will encourage beneficial races to the top."
