Florida schools are expected to transition to the Common Core State Standards by the 2014-15 school year, but some schools still lack technology to implement the new requirements. In Hillsborough County, work is underway to install wireless Internet in 90 schools that have funding, but another 130 still are not slated to receive the technology needed to complete online testing. Officials say they also are concerned about the cost of purchasing technology, such as computers, they will need under the common core.
