A green roof has emerged atop the Beaugrenelle shopping center in Paris as part of a trend to include nature in the city. The structure spans about 75,300 square feet, with a space of about 8,600 square feet acting as a "collective garden" for the public. Living roofs are gaining traction in France because of their ability to curb stormwater runoff, reduce noise and extend the life span of a roof.
