Autism Speaks and the Simons Foundation will establish a multisite network to collect and store samples of brain tissue of individuals with autism in an effort to aid research into the causes of the condition. The new Autism BrainNet network launch follows last year's loss of many specimens when a brain-bank freezer malfunctioned in a Massachusetts. Initial sites will be in New York, California and Texas, but more sites will be established in the U.S. and internationally.
