Westerly High School in Rhode Island is partnering with a local community college to offer an introductory class in engineering that will be worth three credits at any college in the state. "These students have to be very dedicated, and they're very hard workers," said Tim McLellan, a technology-education teacher at the high school, and one of the course instructors. "Students can get acquainted with an actual college course. It gives them a head's up of what to expect."
