Almost 60% of American adults responding to a recent survey said they don't know how the health care law will affect them, a trend suggesting that many hospitals aren't educating patients about accountable care organizations and other upcoming changes. To get patient buy-in for ACOs, hospitals should market these efforts as a way to enhance the patient experience. "No patient will complain about better care and better care coordination," Leavitt Partners senior analyst David Muhlestein said.
