The use of mobile devices to search for local information is growing at an even faster rate than general Web traffic from mobile, according to a report by the Local Search Association. The report also found that half of mobile owners used their devices at least once to seek local information in December. "This presents a clear opportunity for local businesses to pursue mobile advertising strategies to reach these consumers where they are increasingly searching," said Neg Norton, president of the Local Search Association.
