The administration of Maine Gov. Paul LePage has sent state lawmakers its suggestions for amending the state's 2008 Wind Energy Act by changing its focus from expediting wind projects to ensuring that the state gets the most financially from its investments in wind energy. Maine's goal of 2,000 megawatts of wind energy capacity by 2015 is "unrealistic," said Patrick Woodcock, LePage's energy director, adding that "there should be consideration beyond that of whether megawatt capacity installed is really the best metric of our wind energy policies."
