The Labor Department says that March unemployment rates fell in nearly 90% of many large U.S. cities, likely because many people stopped looking for work. Blacksburg-Christiansburg, Va., reported the biggest drop in unemployment from February to March, going from 7% to 5.6%. Nationwide, the unemployment rate hit 7.6%, but more people reported they had given up their job search.
