The cost of prescription drugs is a constant concern for 37% of Medicare Part D beneficiaries, according to a Walgreens survey published Tuesday. Nearly 20% of seniors said they had managed the cost of medication by making sacrifices like skipping doses or delaying filling a prescription. Cost is "always a concern because nonadherence can be a significant and costly barrier in treating illness," Walgreens' Dan Luce said. "This underscores the need to educate Part D beneficiaries about how they can save on prescription and other healthcare costs."
