American Savings Bank introduced mobile-banking services in November; in March, the bank saw a 40% increase in customer usage. The bank says the total number of users already exceeds its original two-year goal. "Customers took to mobile deposits because it makes banking more convenient, eliminating the need to visit a bank branch or ATM to make a deposit, without sacrificing the safety and security customers associate with banking institutions. It brings the branch and ATM functions right into the home," said Carl Tsukahara, chief marketing officer at Monitise, which helped develop the mobile program.
