Scientists at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have created a digital "bug-eye" camera that takes wide-angle and deep-field images. The curved mounting boasts an array of 180 lenses that give images similar to what an ant or beetle might see. Researchers say the cameras could be used for surveillance or endoscopic procedures in the human body.
