Our devices at home and at work will be increasingly conversing among themselves, coordinating their functions throughout the day. The Washington, D.C.-based startup SmartThings is taking a big step into this future, with a house in which 200 common objects are all connected via one system, from the garage door to the coffee maker and even a child's trampoline.
