The use of stem cells to treat paralysis and brain damage due to cardiac arrest in a boy with infantile cerebral palsy has been reported in the journal Case Reports in Transplantation. The boy was able to take steps, eat and form words four months after receiving stem cells from his stored cord blood. The reason for his recovery cannot be determined, a doctor cautioned.
