With more than 40% of seniors in Medicare Part D enrolled in a plan with a preferred network and a new survey showing that an overwhelming majority -- 85% -- are satisfied with their plan's pharmacy options, policymakers should beware of the drugstore lobby's attempts to thwart the cost-saving approach, writes PCMA President and CEO Mark Merritt. "Unfortunately, the drugstore lobby wants policymakers to prevent seniors from accessing these plans. Such an approach, however, will create a political backlash among millions of Medicare seniors," he writes.
