Cellphone owners will need to install small, cheap cells in their homes and share the bandwidth with neighbors as one of several steps to meet the burgeoning demand for wireless data services, Qualcomm Executive Vice President Matt Grob predicted Tuesday as part of a company conference. Grob said government-led efforts to add wireless spectrum will be inadequate for the nation's needs. He displayed a reference design for a potential cell that would be small enough to fit in a hand and cost less than a cellphone.
