A bill proposed by Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., that would repeal the Renewable Fuel Standard continues to draw debate as supporters and critics of the bill continue their arguments. Goodlatte has said the "artificial market for the ethanol industry" that was created by the RFS is hurting American consumers. Ethanol supporters such as Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen point to the nation's reduced dependence on foreign oil as one of the ways consumers benefit.
