After the release of the Financial Stability Oversight Council's annual report, Sen. Tim Johnson, D-S.D., praised the council's progress, saying "all indicators point to a well-coordinated FSOC." The head of the Senate banking committee did note that there is much work left to be done, including addressing Basel III, surcharges for the largest banks and nonbank systemically important financial institutions.
