U.S. trade officials should look into the EU's anti-dumping tariff on U.S. ethanol to "ensure that no [World Trade Organization] commitments have been violated," said Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., in a statement. The EU's punitive action sets "a dangerous precedent for trade between the United States and the EU and these unwarranted actions may violate numerous provisions of the World Trade Organization's agreement on anti-dumping," Thune said.
