SoftBank chief executive Masayoshi Son is confident his $20 billion bid to acquire Sprint Nextel will beat a rival offer from DISH Network valued at $25.5 billion. "[DISH's] proposal does not provide any new cash into the company, and it provides heavy burden of debt," Son said. "I believe our deal will go through." However, DISH believes its offer is better financially and offers the bonus of the combined DISH-Sprint brands.
