Researchers tracked 420 patients with severe heart failure for two years and found that those who regularly took the nutritional supplement coenzyme Q10, along with their current medications, were 50% less likely to die from the condition than those who received placebo. Regular intake of the supplement was also linked to lower hospitalization rates and improved heart failure symptoms. The findings were presented at a meeting of the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology.
