Twitter has laid a rock-solid foundation for future growth and has a more viable long-term business model than does The New York Times, say PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and Netscape creator Marc Andreessen. Still, Twitter's success doesn't reflect well on the current generation of technological innovators, Thiel says. "New technologies are being used to send pictures of your cat halfway around the world. ... We can do more than that," he said.
